burn the mine and paint with cinders
hashmarks in the company spine
oh my, to sew resentment
hold your tongue on company time
wash your hands of the filth and the squalor
smut-stains in the seller's stare
break bread, but round' the corner
they wait in the dark to take their share
honeybees swarm the queen completely
and pluck her eyes out
the heart has fallen carelessly
or was it put down?
feed the dog with the scrap from the table
let him think he's one of you
he's fat with the meat of his brothers
got a taste for blood now too

Invisible Oranges had it right calling this record "shimmering." Light glinting off the leaves of the Appalachian foothills suffuses this record. Great songwriting that keeps you engaged even in repeating verses, and emotional chord choices that invoke that special, yearning kind of good melancholy. And kudos to the synth/keyboard work for being right on point, fleshing out the sound without taking over and getting corny. pinkytheent
Combining crooned murder ballads with raw, angsty hard rock hooks, Melbourne's The Ugly Kings are a wrecking crew well worth watching. Bandcamp New & Notable Sep 15, 2021
Italian stoner powerhouse Tenebra has the heft of Sabbath and the hooks of Saint Vitus in their powerfully imposing tunes. Bandcamp New & Notable May 8, 2022

For some reason, what I previewed and the real songs was somewhat different - maybe because of the cover art?
But I definitely don't regret something more spacial than expected. The recent Ocean drifting in space. frankwurst
